Biography

Leandro Manzo

In 1969 Leandro Manzo was born in Rio Gallegos, Santa Cruz, Argentina. At 13 he had his first group exhibition at the Museo de Artes Visuales de Quilmes, in Buenos Aires. From 1991 to 1993 Leandro worked in drawing and painting with renowned artist Martínez Howard who had studied with Lino Spilimbergo and the great Hungarian artist Lajo Szalay. He has worked alongside some of the most important Argentine artists of his time, including the late Leopoldo Presas, who included someof Leandro’s works in his own collection.

With only 25 years, two of the most important collectors of Argentina, acquire his works. Manzo has had more than twenty five solo exhibitions and close to fifty group exhibitions presented in art galleries, cultural centers and museums across the globe, including in Argentina, Japan, and the United States.

Since 2004 he has lived in various cities within the United States. In 2006 he received permanent residence for Exceptional Aptitude in the Field of the Arts.

His works can be found in important public and private collections in Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Cuenca, Amsterdam, Barcelona, London, Madrid, Paris, Vienna, Zurich, Mexico City, Osaka, Tokyo, Singapore and Toronto. In the United States his work is included in collections in Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City and Charlotte, NC. The permanent collection Museo Nacional del Grabado in Buenos Aires and the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA), Long BeachCA. His decorations and wall paintings are in Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, New York City, Los Angeles and Charlotte, NC.

In 1996 has a solo exhibition at the prestigious Centro Cultural Recoleta, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This exhibition has been seen by more than 80,000 people, with great success and an excellent recognition from specialized critics.

In 2006 the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA), Long BeachCA. acquires two works for his permanent collection.

In 2009 is convened by Modern Multiples Inc. in Los Angeles, CA to make a series of screen prints and works together with the prestigious Master art printer Richard Duardo. He had worked with many of my art heroes including Keith Haring, Shepard Fairey, Mark Mothersbaugh, John Van Hamersveld, Mick Haggerty, David Hockney, and Chaz Bojórquez.

In 1997 is convened to exhibit as one of the 100 most prominent artists of Argentina in the inauguration of the Cronopios Hall in the Centro Cultural Recoleta.
